Our Story

Pancho Villa Taqueria was started after our original El Toro Taqueria, with a mission to keep improving and tuning in to what our clients want and love. With this experience, we brought a new flavor and energy to the Mission District Mexican food scene.

We proudly called ourselves a "Taqueria" long before the term became popular because we believe that great tacos are at the very heart of Mexican food tradition. Our carne asada, chicken, and other meats are grilled on a traditional parrilla, our salsas are made from scratch, and everything is prepared with no lard, no preservatives, and no shortcuts.

We are entrepreneurs at heart, using Mexican food and our restaurants as a way to express passion, creativity, and authenticity. Over the decades, we’ve grown, won awards, and become a beloved part of the neighborhood — all while staying true to our roots: bad ass Mexican food, done right, every day.
